Materials & Care
We’d rather tell you exactly what’s in our jewelry than leave you guessing. So here’s the straight version — no upgraded-sounding words, no hiding behind vague terms.
What our pieces are actually made of
Every AURCRYA piece starts with a copper base. The silver, gold, or rose color you see is a tone finish on top of that base — it’s the look, not a layer of precious metal.
Base & finish
Copper base, finished in silver-tone, gold-tone, or rose-tone. The finish is what gives each piece its color.
Stones & sparkle
- Cubic zirconia (CZ) — the clear, bright stone you’ll see most often. It gives the sparkle without the price of mined diamond.
- Rhinestone — used as accent stones on several designs.
- Lab-created opal — our opal pieces use a created opal, not one pulled from the ground. Same play of color, far less fragile.
Why no solid gold or sterling silver?
Because these are everyday pieces, not heirlooms. Copper takes a beautiful finish, keeps the price honest, and lets us make the shapes we actually want. That’s a choice we’re open about — not a compromise we tuck into the fine print.
Does that mean they’re “less than”? Not to us. A piece you actually reach for beats one you’re afraid to scratch.
On “created” stones
Lab-created opal gives you the shifting fire of natural opal without the cracking and the cost. We call it what it is on every product page, so you’re never surprised when the box opens.
How to keep them looking good
- Keep them dry. Off in the shower, the pool, and the gym. Water and sweat are what dull a tone finish fastest.
- Wipe after wearing. A soft cloth takes off the day’s oils in ten seconds.
- Store apart. Tossing everything in one pouch means pieces scratch each other. A small pouch each is enough.
- Skip the chemicals. Perfume and lotion go on before the jewelry, not after.
A little habit goes a long way — most tarnish we see just comes from storage, not the metal itself.
